Back in 1998, when most people were still just getting used to email, Ruth and her husband Freddie Rayner were quietly building something extraordinary. After facing personal health challenges, Ruth found strength in starting something new, something that would soon change countless lives across the UK. That idea became Time For You — now the UK’s leading domestic cleaning franchise, with a network responsible for over 3.5 million cleaning hours each year.

From the very beginning, Ruth was the heartbeat of the business. With a background as a personal assistant to high-flying executives, she was already an expert in organisation, systems, and detail. When she and Freddie launched Time For You, it was Ruth who ensured every process was watertight, every client cared for, and every cleaner supported. Her administrative precision became the glue that held the business together.

When franchising began, the challenge shifted from running one successful cleaning business to helping others do the same. Ruth rose to that challenge with her trademark energy and meticulousness. She made sure every franchisee joined the network fully equipped to succeed: paperwork in order, systems understood, and confidence high. It’s no exaggeration to say that her leadership set the tone for the supportive, family-first culture that defines Time For You to this day.

Now, more than two decades later, Ruth remains an inspirational force, not just to her son Sam, who has taken the reins as Managing Director, but to every franchisee who knows her as “Queen Rayner.” Her warmth, wit, and unwavering passion for helping others continue to shape the heart of this business.
